Advocate Amit Moshe Cohen, a partner in our law firm’s tax department, specializes in Israeli and international tax laws. Amit provides tax-related consultancy to a broad range of companies, as well as to Israeli and international asset holders on areas relating to individual, company, and income tax. He also assists them in addressing a broad spectrum of tax issues related to the Tax Authorities.
Amit holds extensive legal knowledge and rich experience in the fields of Israeli tax, including handling proceedings with Tax Authorities, pre-ruling applications, voluntary disclosure, court proceedings, income tax, withholding tax, VAT, property tax appeals related to indirect damages, virtual currency taxation, the banking system, and more. Recently Amit assisted dozens of businesses in submitting appeals on the Tax Authority’s decisions regarding Covid-19 related grants and reimbursements.
Amit also provides legal consultancy on international tax laws regarding residency issues, settlement of income abroad, guiding new immigrants and returning citizens, and providing solutions to Israelis conducting business and investment activities abroad.
A diverse array of corporations also benefited from Amit’s consultancy, among them NPOs including associations, Amutot and PBCs which gained extensive value from Amit’s tax planning services.
Amit holds particular expertise in submitting Supreme Court petitions in constitutional law and administrative law dealing with the operations of various government authorities, including government ministries, their subordinate government organizations, local government and statutory bodies.
