Ministry of Defense Claims
Soldiers in compulsory or career service, members of the security forces, police officers, and prison wardens injured during the course of their service are entitled according to the Disability Law to file a claim against the Ministry of Defense for compensation, assistance or rehabilitation. The claim may be related to physical or mental injury sustained as a result of the military service, injury incurred during training or combat, including during vacations while enlisted to military service, injuries incurred while traveling to or from the military base, post trauma, exacerbation of an existing illness or the outbreak of a new illness. In such cases, a claim should be f submitted to the Ministry of Defense for compensation and/or a monthly allowance reflecting the scope of damage caused by the incident. Moreover, should the condition become aggravated after a certain period after compensatory eligibility was set, the injured party may lodge a claim to the Ministry of Defense on the basis of deterioration in her or his condition and request increased benefits and/or any other relevant entitlement.
Additionally, disability percentages set by the medical committee can be appealed before the District and Nation Medical Committees. In addition, it is possible to submit an appeal to the court and to file a claim against the Ministry of Defense on issues relating to the Statute of Limitations.
